The Pollard Memorial Library Foundation invites you to the presentation of the third annual Elinor Lipman Award for Writing and the accompanying Distinguished Mention Award.

The recipient of the 2024 Elinor Lipman
Award is Chance Lee, Assistant Director of the
Tyngsboro Public Library and a Lowell resident,
for his work “The Library Turtle.”
The recipient of the Distinguished Mention Award is Sally L. DeAngelis, a Lowell resident and author of poems, short stories and essays,
for her work “Pair of Angels.”
The Lipman Award pays tribute to Lowell native Elinor Lipman, author of many novels, stories, and essays. Funded by the Pollard Memorial Library Foundation, the award honors a Lowell resident or student at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell or Middlesex Community College for an outstanding work of fiction or creative nonfiction. The award recognizes and amplifies the importance of literacy and learning in the City of Lowell for the lives of its residents.

2023 Winners
The second annual Elinor Lipman Award for writing was presented to Ben Morrison. Ashley Rose-Rivera was the recipient of the Distinguished Mention Award.
2022 Winners
The fisrt annual Elinor Lipman Award for writing was presented to Lillian-Yvonne Bertram. The first Distinguished Mention Award for Writing was awarded to Stephen O'Connor.
