The Ambassador program operates on the understanding of respect for the staff, volunteers, and patrons of the Pollard Memorial Library. Ambassadors are required to be professional, conscientious and respectful at all times when representing the Library Foundation because your conduct reflects on how the Library and the Foundation are viewed in our community.

CURRENT AMBASSADORS: Maria Aybar and Thea Lamarre Anderson
​
PURPOSE: To increase participation, conversation, support, resources and outreach for the Pollard Memorial Library in Lowell, Massachusetts.
​
WHY BECOME AN AMBASSADOR: Ambassadors are PML representatives. Their main focus is to generate increased and persistent active community involvement in the PML.
​
RECOMMNDED TENURE/DURATION: One calendar year (Jan – Dec, midyear additions permitted), renewable on an annual basis.
​
CRITERIA TO BECOME AN AMBASSADOR:

Complete the application

Complete the public announcement release form
-
Complete the in-processing actions with PMLF Ambassador Committee
​
BENEFITS OF BECOMING AN AMBASSADOR:

Your name, pic and bio will appear in the PML newsletter & on the PMLF website

You will be able to add this activity to your
-
You will be invited to PMLF meetings as an invited, non-voting guest
-
Networking with Lowell community members & notable guests at PMLF events

REQUIREMENTS WHILE BEING AN AMBASSADOR:

Maintain the mission
-
Communicate with the PMLF Ambassador Committee with your actions and ideas before implementation

Be creative
-
Attend PMLF Ambassador Program meetings
-
Promote/Attend fundraisers/events (when available)

Support set up and tear down of events
-
Perform 10 hours of community service at the Pollard Memorial Library

REPORTING REQUIREMENTS:

Ambassadors will report to the PMLF Ambassador Committee
AFTER YOUR TERM AS AN AMBASSADOR:
There is a general understanding that whether an Ambassador departs the position on good standing or the alternative, the Ambassador will not:

Speak ill of the program and its efforts

Effectuate bad faith and bad character on consistent basis or of an aggravated nature
-
Allow your library card to expire during your Ambassador tenure
